Throughout Victorian era jewellery was routinely worn by men, ornaments and accessories were normal for professional, public life or high society. Jewelled studs and cufflinks were worn during the day as well as in the evening.
Elegant, dramatic double sided natural pearl and turquoise Victorian cufflinks symbolizing self adornement and sophistication.
In some walks of life man would have been regarded as undressed without at least a pin or a pair of cufflinks.No reason to doubt that even today as these small treasures point out how an understated look can create attention.
From the depth of the sea glowing with shimmering iridescence two diagonal lines of five natural pearls on each plaque alternated by rich tourquoises will add a dash of sophistication.
Alternated by diagonal rows of slightly graduated round cabochon cut natural turquoises in a classic Victorian combination.
Full of carisma and character they measure approx 14.1 mm x 7.3 mm (hxw) set on rich buttery yellow gold kissed by a lovely patina and the touch of time.
The cufflinks are articulated by a five link chain to the reverse.
Artfully crafted in 18 Kt yellow gold during Victorian era.
