Butterflies are full of symbolism and meaning, representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope and life. The magnificent, yet short life of the butterfly closely mirrors the process of spiritual transformation and serves to remind us that life is short.
Pure Victorian in sensibility and design, the 19th century obsession with the natural world served as the wellspring of design for this symbolic butterfly brooch form Victorian era.
Airy spaces and Victorian elegance translates that open work into perceived fragility. A pair of natural rubies transforms into butterfly eyes as coils of gold wire spirals outline proportional wings.
Symmetry of composition creates a harmonious balance of elements.Its wings are formed by diamonds and rubies and sapphires.Its body made up of slightly graduated shimmering natural saltwater pearls.
in all are 5 graduated saltwater half pearls measuring between 2 to 3.3 mm in diameter, fourteen (14) rose cut diamonds totalling approx .50 Ct by spread, eight (8) riund cut natural rubies totalling approx .52 Ct and two (2) round cut natural sapphires totalling approx .14 Ct.
Antique hinged pin with C shape closure, the insect themed work of art brooch virtually floats through the air without care.
Artfully crafted during Victorian era in 9 Kt yellow gold and silver, marked and tested. It comes in its antique box.
