The queen of gems
Designed in such a manner as to evoke delicacy at its finest in a piece of feminine jewelry is this refined natural saltwater pearl and diamond negligee necklace from Edwardian era.
Jewelry from the Edwardian period took on a light and elegant appearance. Femininity and delicacy were the main elements, understated grandeur is clearly apparent in this romantic necklace.
A negligee necklace utilizes two dangles, one slightly longer than the other. The center medallion is adorned with old cut diamonds against a pierced filigree geometric background.
A geometric open work studded with diamonds encompasses a central old European cut diamond of approx .30 Ct full of sparkle and light.
The gentle open work of platinum over gold allows for heart shapes and rose cut diamonds to be displayed to their finest. In all are fifty one rose cut diamonds totaling approx .72 Ct by spread.
Two slightly uneven articulated dangles, decorated with diamonds and two shimmering natural saltwater pearls of oval shape measuring approx 3.49 Ct and the other 2.69Ct glowing with fabulous luminescence only displayed by the queen of gems.
Completed by a fine platinum chain appointed with two rose cut diamonds. This antique beauty is all about the fineness of detail, artistry and refinement.
Artfully crafted in 18 Kt yellow gold and platinum by a master goldsmith during Edwardian era, marked.
Very good overall condition commensurate to use and age. It comes with a gem lab certification stating the two pearls are natural saltwater.
