The top lid is a beautiful crystal Essex reverse intaglio depicting a pheasant in its natural scenery, full of details, almost like a painting about to became true.
Set on a 9 Kt rose gold rim, and crystal bottom. Marked by Frank Hyams 128 New Bond Street.
Frank Hyams was a watchmaker and jeweller from New Zealand, during 1900ca. he established a branch of his business in New Bond Street, London alongside Faberge and other high end makers, where he catered to prestigious clientele, including government officials and aristocrats, including the Rothchilds.
Very good overall condition, wear consistent with age and use.
