Love drops
Tassels, pendants and fringe were everywhere you turned your head in around 1900, one of the most sensuous was the negligee necklace.
It couldn’t get any more divine and sexy than this…ethereal diamond and natural ruby negligee necklace from early Art Deco era.
Linear with balanced proportion, the configuration is of two uneven dangle drops suspended from a central point. Delicate in appearance and sophisticated, mixing geometry of the circular frame with an organic feel within, tendrils of metal envelope a constellation of diamonds, typical of the era.
Horizontal element of target configuration capture three old mine cut diamonds which suspend pairs of leaves of diamonds into two articulated lines ending with vibrant red natural rubies at different lengths dangling at every movement.
All in all are fourteen old mine cut diamonds for a total of 1.19 Ct of pure sparkle and two vibrant pear shaped natural rubies totalling approx .72 Ct beautifully complementing the icy sparkle.
Artfully crafted in 18 Kt yellow gold and platinum top, completed by a later platinum chain.
Very good overall condition, one repair on one ruby drop.
